FYI - Privacy Filters

It's a common occurrence that our patients are very curious about what info is up on the computer screens. This is fine if it is showing their own chart, but occasionally it's not, or occasionallly, the schedule is on the screen. They are even more curious at the front desk. There is a wonderful solution available from 3M known as a privacy filter. The filter is a piece of plastic that blocks screen visibility from anywhere other than a 60 degree cone when facing the screen. Works like a charm. Don't you dare buy them through the normal channels because they can run %120 or so. They are routinely on EBay in the $30-40 range.

No kidding! I can't believe that so many adults LEAN over the counter to see the screen (upside down)!! We have a couple monitors at the front desk and these filters let us angle the monitors so they fit best on the work surface as opposed to how they're best blocked from the patient. Just remember that taking the filter off sometimes helps with reading xrays !

i have them too, but they are as expensive as the screen itself
