Printer for Rx

Post by Jorgebon » Fri Dec 12, 2008 2:20 pm

I'm looking to buy a printer for prescriptions and referal notes. Which printer are you guys using? Are you using 8.5 X 11 inch paper and then cutting it or are you printing on pre-cut paper? I'd hate to waste paper and would like to print on a half page size or a quarter page size sheet.

Printing and cutting is the way everyone does it. Don't feel too bad. Just make sure you have a container for recycling the paper.

It would be even better to email an electronic RX and use no paper. Is that going to be available soon?

Thanks

Nobody seems to be voting for that feature. But yes, we are ready to start building that component when the demand is high enough.

We bought script paper that was perforated into 4 script slips. We separated them into 4 script slips of quarter page size and put them into the multipurpose tray of our printer.

Then on one computer we changed the page size to 1/4 sheet size and changed the default to it takes paper from the MF tray. We then created a share to this printer and pointed all our computers to this share for script printing purposes.

Another share points to the same printer with a different set of defaults to print full pages on plain paper from the normal paper tray.

works like a charm
