No Tx Plan on appointment window(v6.1.1)

Post by drtech » Sat Oct 18, 2008 11:41 am

I like being able to add all procedures from the appointment edit windows, but I DO NOT like the fact that all the tx plan no longer shows, only the selected items. This creates MORE mouse clicks to edit appointments. Since this is a very common occurrence in daily work, I think this is a major distraction. I know the idea was to make it look cleaner or simpler, but in my opinion is doesn't work that well. Improvements should give us FEWER mouse clicks when possible. After working with the program for an hour or two this morning, everyone in our office agrees they would rather have it as it was.

I think a better idea would be to have the add button go directly to the main procedure add window instead of on a separate window and a separate mouse click. We would all like to keep the old way of selecting what procs you want. A good compromise would be to have the highlighted procs move to the top of the list as well as being highlighted...that way it would be very clear and be simpler.

I haven't upgraded to 6.1 yet, so I'm not sure you're talking about the same thing. Do you mean that on 6.1, when you double click on an appointment, the only procedures that show are the ones tied to that appointment? Almost every day, specially with initial patient visits, I edit the appointment to show what we actually do. For example say the patient is scheduled for a restoration on #19, but when he's in the chair we decide we should do #30 first. I go to the appointment and double click it. Then I select #30 and de-select #19. Would we still be able to do that?

Jordan was trying to make it clearer when he added the feature of being able to add any procedure directly from the appointment edit window instead of having to go to the chart. (And thanks for addind that feature Jordan!) But, in the process I think it is harder to use.

Now in 6.1, when you double click on an appointment the only procedures that show are those already attached. You have to click another button now to add procedures, then a separate window comes up and THEN you can change the procs on the appointment. That is the only part I don't like.

Hmm. It seemed so slick when I did it. But looking at it a month later, I agree. I've put it down as a bug.
