Possible Bug -Patient Name on Prescriptions

Post by jclaydds » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:46 pm

I am currently using version 5.9.7

I would consider this a bug but it could be the program's behavior by design.

Let me set the stage of this hypothetical patient: Patient's Name is Johnny R. Doe. The Middle Initial stands for Ray. The patient prefers to be called Ray instead of Johnny so I enter Ray under "Preferred" in the family module. When I print out a prescription: the name prints out: Ray R. Doe. I believe that you should use the patient's legal first name, middle initial and last name. I wouldn't think you would even want their preferred name on a prescription for legal reasons. The preferred name may even be a nickname that they prefer to be called and not their real name.

I was wondering if others can duplicate the same behavior as I am seeing.

Thanks

I have put that down as a bug and will work to verify it. Certainly, preferred names have no place on prescriptions.
