Eclaims (Tesia)

Post by alexei » Wed Sep 03, 2008 10:50 am

OD 5.8.5

I've noticed something: when I look at the text of the "message" that was transmitted, I can see a line with the claim note: NTE*ADD*THINGS I WROTE.......
The problem is that it cuts off after 80 characters, and I've often written more than that. If possible, could you allow it to have more characters in some way?

Thanks very much.

80 characters is a limit imposed by the X12 format. If we add more text, the e-claim will fail to pass validation at the clearinghouse and at the carrier. I imagine that they set it up this way because they simply don't care what you wrote. (I'm being cynical). The supposed solution is to add an attachment.

Feature request!

A (optional?) "character-count" box next to the claim note would be good for keeping track of it, then, I think.

Thanks for all the good work.

ClaimConnect can handle much longer notes/comments. I believe we just need multiple NTE segments, each of which may have an 80 character limit. We would be happy to confirm and test this with you Jordan. Let me know.

Hope this helps.

Well, I'll be darned. I never noticed the "max repeat" value of 20 before. So the real max is more like 1600 characters. That's good news.
