Database maintenance

Post by articaine » Sat Aug 02, 2008 3:53 pm

What exactly does this database maintenance do? One item I see alot is "Deposit Start date reset" and something about "claims error...deleted" does this delete the claim?
If it bleeds, we can kill it.

It checks a whole bunch of things. There's an option at the top to see all the checks. When it finds something wrong, it displays it even if you don't want to see the checks. So in your case, the "Deposit Start date reset" refers to the Deposit edit window. Inside that window is a start date field. In typical usage, this date will be regularly changed by the staff to better filter the list of checks. If the staff is unaware of this feature, the database maintenance tool changes the date for them to make their lives easier. It's just a filter for the user interface. It doesn't do anything else. The second item you mentioned doesn't look familiar. The only claims it will delete are those with no procedures. You should never have a claim with no procedures, but someone could turn off a computer with the claim edit window open, and that would leave you with a claim with no procedures. So it would delete such an orphaned claim.
