Procedure Time Problem with multiple Procedures

Post by opensource » Fri Jul 11, 2008 6:33 pm

Hello Team,

Looks like whenever I add more than one procedure in one appointment, the time allocation for the procedure gets all messed up.

For example : If there is 10 minutes allocated for an X-ray and if there are two fillings..let us say 30 minutes for each procedure...and if in the procedure it is indicated that the X-ray will be done by a Dental Assistant and the filling might have 10 minutes of Dental Assistant time and 20 for a doctor...the output that you would expect is 10 (dental assistant for x-ray) + 40 (doctor)+20(dental assistant)..unfortunately, Open-dental messes it all up and the output is 10+40 and even some other weird output.

Does anyone know how open-dental does the math ?. Is there a way to fix this problem ?. My objective being how do I determine the time that the doctor will be busy..without using the option of going in an making an adjustment on the time for each procedure each time an appointment is scheduled.

Cheers,

There is an explanation of Time Calculations on this page http://www.open-dent.com/manual/aptedit.html The comments about Adj Time box are outdated, since the current version instead gives you a lock time checkbox.
