Same pt and multiple data bases

Post by rambochambo » Tue Apr 28, 2015 8:46 am

Hi

We have 4 offices and 4 different data bases. Is there any way to transfer a single pt between data bases? If a pt leaves office one and moves to office two, what is the best way to get only thats pts info to the second data base? Its nice to have all the pts tx plans and notes available.

Thanks.

How many patients fit this scenario? The reason I ask, is there is no way to export/import a single patient from within Open Dental. I think the least complicated solution would be to set up access to all of your databases at each location so that you can view patient records from each of the practices. The only downfall to this, is that your users would have to be trained on how to recognize which database they are connected to and to not enter data in to the wrong chart. This can be managed through permissions.

Are we talking about a handful of patients, or the majority?
