eclinicalworks ecw Sliding Fee Schedule

Post by hurttclinic » Mon Jun 03, 2013 3:54 pm

Our clinic is currently using eCW and OpenDental via tight integration mode. We're trying to display our treatment plans with the proper discount per sliding fee for our patients. Since insurances are disabled in the tight integration mode...does anybody have a workaround?

I think you're going to be interested in the "Fee Schedule Import" section of this page: http://opendental.com/manual/bridgeEClinicalWorks.html

Once the fee schedule physically exists in Open Dental, I believe the message that comes from eCW into Open Dental contains which fee schedule to use and then the Treatment Plan will reflect that fee schedule. The key here is to have the fee schedule's labeled EXACTLY the same in both programs otherwise it will not work as expected.

Hi Jason

OpenDental Support verified that the "Fee Schedule" was properly imported for us yesterday. However, what we're looking for is how to implement a "Sliding Fee" Schedule. There aren't any "Sliding fee" documentation for the tight integration mode only for the standalone where insurances are enabled. So, we're looking for help on the forum. If you've come across such a setup, please let us know! It would be greatly appreciated.

Now that the actual fee schedule is in Open Dental, eCW should associate it with the patient when it sends the patient demographics over to Open Dental. You can verify that the fee schedule was sent over correctly by going to the Family module of the desired patient. If the fee schedule is correct in the family module then you should either click the "Update Fees" button in the Treatment Plan module to update the procedure fees OR do a "Global Update Fees" which will recalculate all of the Treatment Plan procedures in the database for all patients.
To do a global fee update, open the fee schedule tool window and click Update.
