bridge to Dexis
bridge to Dexis
Do I need specific software from Dexis to bridge to Open Dental? Will DEXray software, DEXimage software and DEXnet software be enough for the bridge?

I'm not familiar with the three different software names you listed. I thought their software was just called "DEXIS". If you have DEXIS and Open Dental, that's all you'll need for software.

You don't need anything from Dexis and you don't have to pay for bridge software. You set up the bridge in OD (no cost).drpham wrote:Do I need specific software from Dexis to bridge to Open Dental? Will DEXray software, DEXimage software and DEXnet software be enough for the bridge?
DexRay is their x-ray module. DexImage is the imaging module, and DexNet is what allows you to have Dexis networked throughout your office. They make up the basic Dexis setup. Don't get hung up on it. The bridge is very simple. You set it up (OD has simple instructions on how to do it). It takes less than 5 minutes to set up. When you click the link in your OD screen, it opens the Dexis software right to the particular patient's Dexis chart.

If you tend to use a specific computer to look at xrays, I would highly encourage a dual monitor setup. It's really nice having Open Dental full screen on one monitor and Dexis up on the other.

That's nice for a private office, but not practical in an operatory.bralli wrote:If you tend to use a specific computer to look at xrays, I would highly encourage a dual monitor setup. It's really nice having Open Dental full screen on one monitor and Dexis up on the other.

Yeah, that's why I tend to use my own office to look at xrays and start doing a preliminary treatment plan.Hersheydmd wrote:That's nice for a private office, but not practical in an operatory.bralli wrote:If you tend to use a specific computer to look at xrays, I would highly encourage a dual monitor setup.
