Invalid Signatures

Post by Hersheydmd » Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:57 am

Jordan,
Every time I open and edit a previously signed progress note, I clear the signature and resign it and click OK.
If I open it again I find the "invalid signature" message.
1) Why should the signature be invalid if I clear it and resign it?
2) The Chart Module window shows "Signed" it doesn't differentiate between a valid signature and an invalid signature. Can you either make the Chart Module show "Invalid" or even be empty if the signature isn't valid.

I bet I have hundreds of invalid signatures that I don't know about, and that it is probably too late to go back and correct.
I suspect this only started happening in the past 6 months, but I could be wrong about that. I just never noticed it before then. I update fairly frequently. I am using 7.7.17

Open a signed procedure. Clear the signature and resign. Open again, and it says invalid sig. (unconfirmed)

I am seeing that same bug too for some time. Hasn't been enough of a problem to call support and even report. I just remember to close the screen and reenter the window before signing if i make changes.

One other minor problem I have with the Topaz pads. If you open the screen to begin writing the note before the pad is plugged in it will not recognize the pad unless you close the window and re-enter the window to sign it. I only have two Topaz pads because the second I would buy more pads would be the day that OD moves to the bigger graphical pads I bet

Jordan...

first thanks for fixing the invalid signatures bug mentioned above...

Recently, I had a patient sign a consent form for an extraction. I unplugged my signature pad so it wouldn't get bloody but I forgot to sign my name on the consent form first. I figured I would just sign it later after the patient left. I have multiple signature boxes for the patient, myself and a witness on the consent form. Now when I unlock the form and try to sign it my signature shows over all three boxes. I know that somebody mentioned this on the forum in the past but it didn't go anywhere. Do you see this being important enough to consider it to be a bug?

That does sound like a bug. We'll have to be able to duplicate it. I hope we have enough information to go on. Added to bug list.

Thanks...

if any problems recreating the situation or if you just want to save time you can have one of your staff connect to my database or I can export the consent sheet to you. Just let me know!
