Re: Open Dental & Linux (Ubuntu 7.10)
Well, you won't need Samba unless your OD database is running on a Windows PC on the network, and you're trying to connect to it from your Ubuntu Linux client: Samba is software that can be run on a platform other than Microsoft Windows, for example, UNIX, Linux, IBM System 390, OpenVMS, and other o...

Make sure you check permissions and case - I don't have Ubuntu installed anywhere at the moment, so I can't check, but I seem to remember that the executable is named OpenDental.exe (notice the case). Re: Build errors
Thanks. I keep getting the same error with Subversion. Everytime I try to commit something it fails, but then merges the commit when I click "Update".
I just checked out to a new folder, deleted the offending file from the repository and then updated. That seems to have done the trick.

What does this build error mean? Is there a glitch with some newly added code, or is one of my dlls outdated (or missing)? Also, for Frederik: I notice your Debian packages use libungif4 and libungif4dev instead of libgif4 and libgif4dev. Is there a reason for this? ===== [csc] /home/exam/opendental...

Suggestion: New Forum Header "Porting OD to other OSes"
I'd like to suggest a new forum header:
"Porting Open Dental to other OSes (Linux, OS X, etc)"
Gives those of us interested in porting OD an area where we can explore the topic in detail without overloading the Advanced Topics area with compilation errors and the like.
What do you think?
