One way to track them is to go to (Reports / Outstanding Insurance Claims) and check the box to include preauths. This only tracks the outstanding ones. If you need something more than than then you will probably need a custom query. This is quick and dirty but might do what you need. /*Adjust Claim...

The solution we have been using is to manually rescan the applicable page into the patients images module under the EOB section. I would advocate for being able to attach EOB's to non payments also.

Replace the printer. After looking around on the net a bit I think that it is a GDI printer and not a PCL printer. You can buy a fairly cheap network based laser printer and be done with it. One of the main things we look at in our office is how much the toner costs per print. We have multifunction ...

Preventing internal theft.
As we know, there is no way to completely prevent internal theft from ever possibly happening. This does not mean we shouldn't try to minimize the possible avenues for internal theft. I recently realized a way to steal that would be very hard to track and one way to make it harder. The scam goes lik...

Using Open Dental for Xray Imaging.
Currently in our office we bridge to Patterson Imaging but we would really love to have imaging all handled by OpenDental. I'm trying to think about what features we need from an imaging program. Seems to me that most imaging solutions do more than most offices use or require. The basics as I see it...

That is kinda hard to answer at this point since windows 8 hasn't been released yet. All we've had so far is beta previews that don't necessarily reflect the final product. Mostly what I've seen of windows 8 so far has not left me worried about compatibility, but only time will tell.

We've been having a similar problem in our systems. When I open the task manager, OD is using an inordinate amount of memory (over 500MB). I just force OD to quit and then reopen. I figure it's some memory leak and was thinking one of the future updates would resolve it.

If you are running OD previous to version 12.1.14 there is a bug with scanning. There is a workaround where you scan something into a patient image module first and then delete if you don't need it, then scanning EOB's works fine. I'd recommend upgrading to avoid this issue though.
