Re: like to get a google search like capabilities
Creating a Google-like search for a database is neigh impossible. Most tables will not have what you are looking for stored as a string but instead will store it as a key to another table so it would be EXTREMELY complicated to search through the entire database. That and not all of our "foreign key...

Re: Any purge tool developed in the last 6 years?
When you put it that way I can't believe it isn't already feature request. Removing legal responsibility from myself / my practice would be my #1 priority if I were a doctor.

Re: Tabulation problems in sheets
I wouldn't "expect" one. I'm pretty sure the Adobe.dll we're currently using doesn't have the capabilities for designating how to draw tabs when manually creating (drawing really) a PDF. We might get lucky and there might be an updated dll that we can use. Hopefully there is something we can do (lik...

Re: Any purge tool developed in the last 6 years?
Is it useful to delete historical records because not even the IRS deems them valid? Why is getting rid of data useful? I could MAYBE see the purging of the images folder simply to save hard drive space but that still is (to me at least) important PHI.

Re: Tabulation problems in sheets
You might just need to update to a more recent version of Open Dental for printing tabs.
However, I was able to duplicate tabs not showing up when creating PDFs. I'll submit a potential bug ticket and to see if we have control over how invisible characters are treated when printing PDFs.

Re: Integrated text message
What are the charges in Indian currency? We are in the process of releasing v16.1 right now which we enhanced our Integrated Texting to be able to support foreign countries but we are starting out with a select few for our beta testing (e.g. Canada, Romania, etc.). Once we have the kinks worked out...

15.4 Your build ([major].[minor].[build] E.g. 15.4.15) is an important part of the version info for complaints because it might be a bug that has already been fixed and we need to know if you are above or below a specific build or not. You can find your exact version by going to Help > Update: http...

Re: Super Families
We use super families here at HQ and you are correct, it is explicitly sorted by PatNum (but showing the super family heads at the top). This is how we desired to use it but I can see how you would want that list alphabetized. It would be an extremely easy feature request to implement an option to s...

Re: Referred From field
I don't see it in my OD v. 15.3.47.0 which I updated to last week. I've never seen it in any version. It would be nice to have it there. That's because it is in v15.4: "Referred From field added to Edit Patient Information and Add Family windows." http://www.opendental.com/manual/version15_4.html O...

Re: 6.4 (beta) - Exception Error while entering payment - Bu
That's not all that strange. It looks like your MySQL instance (the non-trial MySQL) is running in STRICT mode and will complain at you if you try to insert data into the database without first specifying "NOT NULL" columns. I think you simply need to run the following query:
Code: Select all
SET sql_mode = '';

Re: 6.4 (beta) - Exception Error while entering payment - Bu
hello can you elaborate again on this error "field 'InsEst' doesn't have a default value" when pressing the payment button. I know there was a fix which I used years ago but the problem came back again and I don't remember what I should be doing. any ideas? much appreciated... Its been seven years ...

Re: Undelete a deleted note?
There is not currently a way to do such a thing. It would be a feature request to be able to choose a historical note to be used as the current note. http://www.opendental.com/manual/featurerequests.html As a workaround, you might take a screenshot of Open Dental or some equivalent so that you can r...

Re: Denti-cal / Dentical EDI, sending claims directly
You can update to v15.4 if you are on active support with us otherwise v15.3 is where you will be held. If you have active support with us right now then v15.4 should be available to you right now (the beta version which shows up towards the bottom after clicking Check for Updates).

Thank you for posting the logs. I forgot that there is some sensitive information in it so I removed it from the public forum. This helps me greatly!ForrestGumpDDS wrote:I remember testing it first myself prior to giving other patients the access and everything was working fine.
