Reminds me of a problem I once had with schick.. It was the network card driver..

Something to be said for using Intel..

Same problem as in 2005.. It was a realtek driver problem... They fixed that driver problem since then. Also good to use WHQL certified drivers...

Server Virtualization is easy. There are a lot of ways to do it. I use VMWare Convterter as it makes life easy. It can take an acronis backup and convert it to a virtual machine, or you can take a windows bare metal backup and use the vmware converter to convert the vhdk file to Vmware Workstation.....

Created an update. This solves the problem of having to use executables.. because some are falsely detected as a virus. Found a way to execute everything without compiling into .exe

So USBDeview is executing the .js and .vbs scripts directly!

Some HK-780s have Sonix chipset and some have Empia.. You have to update the drivers from the websites accordingly.. I will charge you $90.00 to hunt down the driver.

Don't buy the MD-740 or EP-40.. The image is good.. but the capture only works in Open Dental's intraoral camera feature and in Apteryx as well.. so if you don't have Apteryx, etc.. Don't buy it. This capture button on the MD-740 and the EP40A works inside of Open Dental.. tested today.. Doesn't work with Apteryx.. will be shipping them this camera soon, though I now like another camera... Aww his server was just crashing... Optiplex 980 with a Kernel Power event.. I thought it was just OD crashing when entering notes from a Workstation....

Sony Markose is still crashing..I am going to completely reinstall OD and MySQL... Then restore the DB.. Good to delete c:\programdata\mysql after the uninstall, but before the new install of mysql... That is where all those tables are stored. Updating to 5.5.26.. So far so good... The errors are go...

Do you have to rebuild a database or get database corruption? I have noticed that as well inside of vmware, and usually reinstalling MySQL does the trick... but I have to wipe a virtual machine last month over it corrupting the database... Yes but I didnt tell you guys how to get 7.4.4 to run... but its still in beta so I will wait for it to be stable... You shouldnt be running 7.4.4.. be sure you have direct rendering enabled with opengl and linux... glxinfo is the command..

The Enviromental Detection is what seems to be keeping it from loading.. I redid this from scratch in Visual Studio and removed that and Open Dental worked without needing to be compiled in Mono at all.

I use a service called OpenDNS but it doesnt work per user, though you could get it too by assigning dns servers at the user login through a script. You could also use a firefox addon that blocks websites.. I think its called PublicFox. Could use a SquidProxy or some sort.. Dont recommend it though....

You could use LogMeIn's Hamachi.. its a free VPN. Works well. And it would encrypt the data over the network. You dont want port 3306 (mysql) exposed to the internet. Even with a root password. Cool!

The current development version of Mono (which is soon to be released as Mono 1.2.5), is able of running Open Dental on Linux. However, there exist no Ubuntu packages for this version of Mono (expect it in Ubuntu 8.04). That's why installing Open Dental using Ubuntu packages doesn't quite work yet....

Just keep updating your mono daily tarball and the delete your od source and recheckout with subversion to download the newest version of od, compile it on VS2005, and one day mono will be able to execute the mono, rather it be a new feature of mono, or a bugfix in od.
