Re: FDE an inability for Advanced Malware Detection
Why don't you freeze the system using RollbackRx or use Steady State or comodo time machine kind of products. so the data will be the only one that will be changing. Application parts will be the same. True Crypt has been discontinued and they are recommending to use bitlocker since there are some k...

Re: Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid... Ransomware
Found a good article in general to prevent all kind of viruses from running http://www.computerworld.com/article/2485214/microsoft-windows/cryptolocker-how-to-avoid-getting-infected-and-what-to-do-if-you-are.html Need to make a group policy so that virus links like this cannot run and infect the sys...

Re: Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid... Ransomware
stjames70, i like your idea of running Virtual machines. But remember, one machine needs to be elected as the server in opendental, this will have to expose the hard drive as network drive so other systems can use it. I can't think of a way to avoid this ransomware as alyosha says other than pay the...

Re: cryptolocker
in a server client architecture, opendental on the server opens up the drive on server to be shared, so client computers can see the images/scans saved on the server. Anyway this can be prevented by having opendental to remove the requirement to map a network drive on the server, so client can acces...

Re: Using Tablets for Health History Form Updates
i was considering an application like idisplay to extend my desktop display to the tablet so the user can see what they are filling.
Let me know if anyone else can think of something other than windows tablets.
I have to consider Windows Surface Pro that is being suggested.

When there were sanctions on Iran, heard they were using Bitcoin a lot.
If paypal adopts bitcoin, not sure why it won't become the new medium.

Re: Computers for a startup
Lot of good answers in this forum. As for me, we use Vostro, Optiplex, PowerEdge Servers. These are available on ebay for a reasonable price. Main things about setting up the computers (just enumerating what everyone is telling) run server in VM, so if it fails, we can quickly recover RAID setup for...

can opendental update the address filled in registration frm
Is it possible for opendental to export the address data, etc.. filled in registration form onto the database.
If so i would like to update the address of the user with the new address the user fills in the recall form.
Is this possible with opendental software. Please suggest.
