OD12.3 - Could not load file or assembly 'SigPlusNET.dll

While building OD 12.3 in release configuration, I get error: "Could not load file or assembly 'SigPlusNET.dll' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied" . This error is produced by SGEN component. Interestingly, this error does not occur while building in Debug configuration. I am not a program...

Re: Thin Client from remote server location for 3 offices

As efficient as RDP is, the UI elements still need to be transported over network. Not sure, if this has been attempted before, but how about hosting mysql centrally and A-Z folders locally to each site, kept in sync with likes of dropbox? mysql data should be pretty light on the network. Dropbox is...

Re: Howto - Server Virtualization

Latest version of Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) does support MySQL 5.5 http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntu Amahi is something you install on top of either Ubuntu or Fedora. I'd definitely recommend Ubuntu 12.04 because it's an LTS (long term support - 5 years) version . Main advantages that Am...

Re: Howto - Server Virtualization

Well, for those who are not linuxophobic, it might be better to use virtualization with a Linux server, such as Ubuntu. I'd also recommend putting OD A-Z folders and MySQL database on a different virtual disk than rest of the OS, for easier backup and upgrades. For those wanting to try a (free) linu...

Re: Web version progress

This is great! Sorry if you have provided details earlier and I missed that somehow, but some basic questions 1) does this mean no more client installs? 2) no need to have IE/windows for clients? 3) Is the server going to be a J2EE appplication and be able to run on Linux? Thanks for this exciting n...

Re: Error upgrading from 7.2 to 7.6

Finally I got a chance to try your suggestion and you were spot on. I had a non-blank string for sql-mode in my.ini file that specified sql-mode="STRICT_TRANS_TABLES,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION" This isn't the default, but maybe when mySQL is installed separately (which I did), it set...

Re: Error upgrading from 7.2 to 7.6

Thanks for the suggestion. I received a new backup after all the plugins were disabled. That didn't help much -- I get the same error. If I am guessing correctly, just disabling the plugins probably didn't revert the mysql schema back to the vanilla state that open-dental expects (if it was indeed m...

Error upgrading from 7.2 to 7.6

Hi, I am upgrading an OD 7.2 setup to 7.6. As a test, I ran upgrade process by running OD 7.6 on a copy of the production MySQL database. During the upgrade, the process fails with following error message: Field "PluginDIIName" doesn't have a default value Conversion unsuccessful. your database is n...

Re: Upgrade path from 6.4?

Thank you for the clarification.

If I am upgrading in-place from an existing 6.4 server, the database would already be there, so I don't need to install the trial version in that case. Is that correct?

Re: Upgrade path from 6.4?

Thank you for your answers. It's good to know I don't have to upgrade through the intermediate versions to go to 7.2

Upgrade path from 6.4?

Hi, First of all, let me say this is an amazing effort, congratulations and thanks for keeping it going. I am helping a dentist upgrade from her current 6.4 OpenDental software to the latest. Can someone help me with these initial questions? 1. Is it recommended to migrate to the 7.2 beta, if not wh...
