Just upgraded from 15.4.19 to 15.4.23. Still getting the same IO error as before OD successfully installs after we press RETRY on the series of about 10 error windows, the first of which is the CentralManager.exe.

Update: It seems that the above screenshot was the first in a series of Error Windows (5 more files had IO errors). After dismissing them one by one by pressing Retry I was able to update normally. Please note that the workstation has no backup service running that would be accessing these files.

If you buy an additional ISC-250 from a third party vendor, make sure you are getting the USB cable and Power Supply in addition to the terminal itself. What I really meant: the only way is 1. navigate to \OpenDentImages\setup.exe and launch installer or 2. Reboot OS on Workstation and then follow the normal update procedure. Why this is annoying is that it is not enough to run the update on the server, as a precaution one must run it on every works...

2. Magtek also has the eDynamo (not to be confused with iDynamo or uDynamo) reader scheduled for Nov release. It has Bluetooth and USB connectivity and is compatible with Windows, IOS and Android.

Unfortunately I called Crashplan and when they heard dental office, they said that I must get the ProE not the Pro product because of HIPAA. ProE has a one time setup fee for $1000 and a $600 per year hosting fee.

Crashplan is as of Jan 1 2015, $1000 setup fee and $600 per year (they charge you for a 5 user minimum). They also need a dedicated Crashplan server in addition to your file server. Is anyone using any other service which is affordable and HIPAA compliant?

Honestly when Windows 8 came out it was cheap and we used it to upgrade out of XP whose support is ending in April 2014 and according to MS is 21 times more hack-able than Windows 8. Sorry to hear that. We have had the opposite experience. Brother is rock solid. Epson is flaky with: hardware issues (one died and was replaced, one has pinstripe through scanned page) and software issues (restart, unplug/replug USB). Fujitsu is of course un-useable with OD.
