Re: Windows 10 acting as a server with the 1803 update

My workgroup server has 1803 update. 1803 really messed some aspect of the Windows 10 shell up for this computer. The start menu doesn't work (dead button), the notification menu doesn't work (dead button), Edge browser boots for a second then shuts down. I searched out all sorts of blog posts on ho...

Re: Windows 10 acting as a server with the 1803 update

Like many workgroup users, I've had all sorts of problems since 1803. For starters, I downloaded netbscanner. https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/netbios_scanner.html It's a small utility program that gathers info about the current network and workstation configurations. I ran it on my office workstation....

Re: Bloat-free backup folders and files?

Yes, generally the files in most folders aren't big in size or numbers. However, the crypting syncing software has to read all the files to be backed up to make sure there's no changes. After a couple hundred scans of folders with files with no changes, the scanning time (aka staff time) starts to a...

Bloat-free backup folders and files?

Is there a list of the bloat free folders and files that must be part of the OD backup/restore process? Sure, memory is cheap, but when the staff is running a sync encrypt process at the end of the day, all this bloat takes additional staff time for the software to scan thru and then backup as requi...

It would be nice if OD could be configured to work with a smart watch connected via bluetooth for perio charting. I'm looking for a query that provides a list of pts that were seen 6 to 8 months ago for prophies or cleanings. Ideally, it would also ID those who don't have apts for cleanings in this month... All Win 7s are equal to or better than XP home or Pro on a new computer. Seems like this issue is more about needing a central repository for patient data that can be accessed from remote sites. There's various 'kludge' fixes for this.
