Re: doubts about the future. Loosing freedom

Yikes!! Keep the server out of the op! Minimize who touches the server. It's got your business critical data. Why knowingly put it in harms way.

Also, Raid is NOT backup.

Re: Waiting Room Internet

Hmmm, I will need to research this more. I think the only guaranteed way to separate the office network from the public one is to have 2 separate cable modems from my ISP. Of course I'm sure they will charge more. Any other sharing of a single internet connection will still leave a network connecti...

Re: Auto Log-off/shutdown

I regularly use multiple computers for multiple tasks... Also, our assistant (singular) goes from Tx room to Tx room making notes. It would not be that advantageous for us to have her log in again at every workstation... Better to have a way to very clearly identify which user is logged in at any mo...

Thanks Rick! How did you get the dialog box in there anyway? Powerpoint? It's not really in the chart at this time, right?

Re: What multifunction printer do you use?

We have to brother mcf 9840cdw. It's been great for us and is our 4th Brother. It's nice to have one device to print, scan, and copy.... Scanning is double sided capable, color printing, and it's pretty fast, and very reliable.

How do you scan right into OD?

I really like this dialog... It's really awesome to have the boxes with arrows for tx planning!!! Not contradicting anything so much as our take on the same subject matter: 1) The stoplight system is perfect to help patients understand treatment needs. Here's how we do it: Gray: Treatment completed ...

Re: Recall system

Slightly off topic, but wanted to help if you are interested. Best recall system by far for us has been outsourcing it to PLZ. www.justsayplz.com. Feel free to call our office with any questions... just peruse their website. It's superior to anything that PMSs have, by far. I'm switching to OD from ...

Re: Search by email Address

Thanks. #1145 has been added...

88% of our patients have an email address. We are constantly communicating with them and very occasionally, patients email us questions or requests without adding their names! This would be very very helpful :)

Thanks!

This is something we search for all the time...

Jordan, can you add it to the Select Patient Dialog box? BTW, is that box customizable at all? Right now there's Last Name, First Name, Birthdate, etc... Email would be very useful...

Let me know and I'll be happy to add it to the Requests lists...

Re: doubts about the future. Loosing freedom

What is the point of this argument? Is the argument 'I want a Choice of OS's' or 'I want Linux only'? There are a limited amount of resources to any project. Focusing on Windows leaves more resources to develop functionality, integration, and features for EXISTING CUSTOMERS. Like me. If Jordan one d...

Re: Starting Over From Scratch: What would you do?

I would be very surprised if history was coming over, but charting was not. They are one and the same thing. later: OK, I understand now. Procedures that are the equivalent of our "Existing Other" status are not coming through. Again, you and I are at a battle over terminology :) To me... history a...

Thanks for your note. As far as how confident am I about the data and staff training? To answer, the conversion is going well. Almost everything we need is coming over. Appointments, notes, history, treatment plans... I've identified the gaps to know where to supplement as necessary. The biggest thi...

Re: Business Process: Thank You for your Referral

The only thing I want to add is that I run my office differently than other dentists. For this reason, I may not wish to have the same process as another dentist during the checkout process. There is no right or wrong, just different ways to check out the same patient. I would like the _ability_ to ...

Re: Business Process: Thank You for your Referral

So, D0150 would trigger the referral check routine and then the thank you letter; D7140 would trigger the post-op instructions for extraction. Almost... Not every new patient that was referred actually gets the D0150 code, and we would still want to thank the referrer. For post op sheets, definatel...

Re: Business Process: Thank You for your Referral

One thing that I'm thinking about as I mull over how we would include such a trigger is that I'm not sure where exactly the "checkout" trigger would go. There are certain situations where the patient finishes up in the chair and then just heads straight out the front door. But let's take a typical ...

Re: Waiting Room Internet

Sorry guys, but just working with a different subnet mask will not keep your files safe from knowledgeable attackers. To demonstrate: I assume your routers have DHCP enabled. That means that the router will automatically assign IP address, subnet mask, dns, and gateway. Try manually setting your com...

Enh Req: Images Module F2 or Rename via slow double click

Would like to be able to rename a document right in the document explorer without having to go into the info screen.
Would like to be able to use keyboard shortcut F2 and/or slow double click, ala renaming files within windows explorer or OsX Finder.

Thanks!
