Re: maximize/minimize new version

Snap Layouts is mostly there using a work-around in current versions. Say you want OD on the left and browser on the right. Snap the browser to the right first, then you can select OD to snap to the left. Of course full support is always better. Just pointing this out if you want to do it now.

A mixture of windows OSes is fine. OD is 32-bit, so will run on either 32 or 64. I would recommend you switch all your PCs to at least win7 because winXP is EOL April 2014.

You're better off to just physically secure your server (lock it up in a room). Time Card Fraud

I've been noticing my employees having the exact same clock in events in the morning, meaning 1 of them would arrive early and clock them all in. I let them come in an hour early to get things ready, but they are abusing it. How can I make it to that only the logged in employee can clock in/out for ...

Re: Kiosks, WiFi, Domains and Security

Don't share with EVERYONE. You can specify which existing user on the server gets Full access. Then, enter that user's user/pass into the kiosk/other client computers to access the server's resource.

Re: Kiosks, WiFi, Domains and Security

Your post brings up multiple points, and I only want to answer a couple of them, so... * Guest WiFi: This is possible using a router that is compatible with DD-WRT or Tomato router firmwares. The Guest network is set to be entirely separate from the main network. If you are extra an*l, buy another r...

Re: OD startup error

Sorry, yes I am compiling. At one point I did include those required dlls in the main app dir (been a long time, so I forgot). I guess those dlls have since changed. Let me try that out. Thanks

Re: OD startup error

I have traced the startup error to the following missing files: Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.dll Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3DX.dll Microsoft.DirectX.dll After copying those 3 files from v7.5, the startup error is gone. However, the DiagnosticTrace error pops up. I've turned off all Trace as you suggeste...

Re: Should you be archiving emails?

I forwarded all emails to gmail, almost 8GB of space. As google advertises, I've never had to delete anything from lack of space. Email by its nature is insecure, so I have no qualms about using gmail for office communications.

OD startup error

Every compiled version beyond 7.5 has given me this error on start up, and the program would just quit, not even letting me go into the Choose Database screen (see error below). It looks like it has something to do with the tooth chart. OS: windows server 2008 R2. When I copy over the newly compiled...

Re: Medical History

For purposes of updating the Medical History, I would go to Forms and copy over the last existing MH form. By copying, that new form now has a new date. Then the patient just has to sign. I remember another doc bringing up the fact that if you keep copying over forms like this for updating at every ...
