Week view refresh

We've noticed that the week view of the appointment screen does not refresh until it is entered or exited (or the Appts) button is clicked. IOW, it does not refresh like the daily view - is this by design?

Hi Jason - she deleted the perio exam chart from the perio chart page. I’ll have to try and replicate it later. Of course, she might have confirmed “Do you want to delete”, too. At least she fessed up.

Seems to me, there should be either:
  • A security restriction
    Or a soft delete
    Or an undelete
    Or a prompt asking, “Are you sure?”

Don't know about that - check out their website for the latestI just read today that Microsoft will be addreessing the issue in the next release of Windows 10 asometime this fall. Until then, backing up regularly and limiting internet access is the best defense.

I'm not quite sure of the question Chris - sort of like an "undo"? If that's so, by that time you have taken off the gloves and are back at the keyboard. IMO, it's probably not much of an issue. Simpler is always better. If you get a chance, could you check the "backspace", "left", "right" commands?...

So Chris - playing around a little more - the skip tooth command is causing a crash at all times. Also, I noted that I can't enter probings unless I "add a new perio chart"

Logmein works fine on the ipad. I use it during vacations. I use logmein from home all the time. It's secure and very responsive. But in a public venue, you have to make sure that if the ipad walks away, it will time out.

Version 16.2 gives the ability to re-name the Ortho chart tab.

My first thought was to setup a problem list with priorities/referrals etc. Not a treatment plan, but overall problems including orthodontics, pathology, decay rate, hygiene - you name it.

What are your ideas for this tab?

Ryan... I will oftentimes open up a second instance of Open Dental on the same computer and work back an forth - form on one screen, chart on the other (a two monitor setup of course). It's a little kludgy, but it works.

In this last case, there were three files: a pdf and two jpgs. All three are present in the subdir, but they have different names than what is seen in the encrypted e-mail attachment list. They are listed in the subdir by date modified and not date sent.

Not as elegant as a scanner, but a lot faster, is a point and shoot in macro mode and a viewbox. My camera is 12mp and gets incredible detail. I use this same camera (Pentax Optio WG 2) as my main clinic camera. its also the same one that Lester Dine uses.

If all you want to do is access and use Open Dental remotely, there are many programs. I use logmein. Similarly, if all you want to do is backup to your home, I also use logmein backup. Backup to the cloud is easy with Crashplan or the like.

I use Dell Optiplex 780 sff in my ops. Windows 7 pro, purchased off- lease ( generally 3 yo) on EBay... The operatory computers are drones and OD places very little burden on them. They are easy and cheap to replace and keep as spares. The server, on the other hand . . .

First, I'll second what David said. My workstation solution is used Dell Optiplex 780 sff computers from ebay (offlease with Windows 7 pro installed). They run about $250 - 300. Just had an interesting situation where my front desk changed a comm log entry by accident to a future date. Is that entry a part of the audit trail? I was just thinking for legal purposes, since a conversation may be recorded or summarized in the comm log if that was the case?

PS - After the firmware upgrade, i did not turn the printer off and on again. My FD did cycle it and it started working - I bet that was the solution

Thanks for the recommendations. There's not much room at the front desk any more. We have a Brother multi-function at the front which scans fairly well, but I felt that a small one, set up for drivers licenses and insurance ids would work better.
