Rectangle Health

I've been using Rectangle Health for credit card processing for a couple of years, maybe more. Has anyone noticed they seem to be 'expanding' into other areas. HiPAA (sorry, can't remember the damned correct letters) compliance? Risk assessments? Security? Wow, they hit you up CONSTANTLY. I'm going ...

Re: Apteryx

I, then, have two options: 1. find a software that reads XDR sensors and ScanX plates. 2. replace my computer hardware of any old workstation by??? Is it Dec 31, 2021 or June 1, 2023??? What date would be the last time I can transfer my license to a different bit of hardware? ***************Sunset M...

I replaced mine over the Covid holiday last year. SSD drive. I used an i7 from last year to save a few bucks. Built it myself.

Re: New server - solid state drive or regular disk drive?

I built my own with SSD and SSD backup drive. I, stupidly, had my server in the utility room where it was quite humid. I barely replaced it in time. I copied all files to the new drive. I was going to make a backup copy and the damned drive died. Thank goodness the first copy was good! Moved it out ...

I hope they let us know with plenty of time...

But, won't the software work, as it, if no updates are needed?

Re: Radiographs and Intraoral Cameras

This is great news (I think) for an Apteryx user.

I have XDR sensors. I also have plates - ScanX. Is there a way to bring those over?

Re: Karen's Replicator has been UPDATED!

Thanks, Joe. It was the mysql file, for some technical reason, that could no longer be copied, I believe.

Anyway, so glad to see it back and viable. It was my go-to for years.

Karen's Replicator has been UPDATED!

I used Karen's Replicator (Google it) as my backup software. It's freeware. Windows 10 killed it's functionality. Sounds like the gentleman that wrote the code died a few years ago. Karen's Tools page says the kids picked up the ball and updated the code. It now is supposed to work with Windows 10. ...

CAQH for insurance payments

Is anyone using CAQH to process insurance payments? I am trying them to reduce the insurance credit card process and eliminate this fee for processing insurance payments. Does anyone else you this service? I have signed up for one insurance company - Aetna. I have received an email from my bank mone...

Re: Open Dental since 2005 - Haven't kept up!

Thank you for your reply. I like the idea of adding email for recall. Does that require a domain name email or will gmail work? I'll start with that. Would like to get a nice graphic for a simple recall email and send it off to patients. Thanks, again - Rick P.S. - I vaguely remember when you came o...

Open Dental since 2005 - Haven't kept up!

I need other user's help - I've stopped keeping up with Open Dental and need to put back the effort. I've had Open Dental since 2005. Small one doctor office. We use it's basic features and Apteryx for our x-ray program. Send claims electronically (no attachments but would like to), chart, appt entr...

Replace workstation

12 year Open Dental Software owner. For about two months, now, my XDR sensor in hygiene has been 'cutting out'. I talked with XDR and they think the sensor is fine from the limited diagnostics they could run. I tried a different workstation with the same results. BUT, stupidly I used a workstation t...

How do you utilize it on a day to day basis? Where do you access the form inside Open Dental?

Thank you,

Re: What is your "Oh no my server crashed" plan?

I had two good days with the new server. Went to make a recovery copy of the main drive and it stopped 75% of the way. It said to run chkdsk on the drive. Drive showed errors and it failed to boot from that point forward. Took the drive out to read it with another machine and it couldn't be read. Wo...

Re: What is your "Oh no my server crashed" plan?

Thanks for the heads up, bpcomp! I have never stopped the mysql program (and don't even know how to do that) to back it up). For some reason how I got back up and running, without stopping the service, worked! I'll have to look into another plan as you have suggested to solve the problem you brought...

Re: What is your "Oh no my server crashed" plan?

Here’s my actual real-world events which took place yesterday April 10. 2012: My old Dell Optiplex ‘server’ running Windows XP for eight computers was shutting down here and there for the past two weeks. It had been running pretty much perfectly for 8 years. I felt it was time for an overhaul. I bou...

Re: What is your "Oh no my server crashed" plan?

I’m currently faced with this issue. I have a few questions. I’m running a Windows XP dedicated server for the last 8 years. I’ve been running Soft Dent for the first 5 years and Open Dental for the last 3 years, approximately. My server has stopped running about three times the last two weeks and s...

Can Sheets span multiple pages?

I have decided to use the Consents section of Open Dental for patient information. Here's what I mean: We have patient information forms I've created in Word for Six-Month Braces Information, NTI Information Sheet and Periodontal Information Sheet. Some of these are multiple pages and color. I've ha...

Has the Sheets function progressed so that all these variables are now available to create t...
