No, it's not a sales tax. Supply companies will collect it, and pass it along to you in terms of higher supply costs. signing chart notes

I'm on a roll. A concern of mine is the legality of chart notes. Is there a way to lock the notes to prevent changes? As a reformed Dentrix user, I know that Dentrix required a month end that effectively prevented altering previous entries. How do I go about that in OD?

Re: How "paperless" are you?

Thanks for the replies. We're going to start keeping track of how many patients have internet access. We already request e-mail addresses for new patients so I figure that should be a decent way of evaluating internet access. In thinking further, forms requiring patients to input data are the bigges...

Lab Cases / Sedation Records ??

Just a couple more . . . When we track lab cases, is it possible to input a due date into the system? For instance, we are expecting three cases back on any given date. A box, or something, would pop up so that my staff would know to look for those cases. Once they're received, they can be marked as...

How "paperless" are you?

Sorry in advance, but I need some advice. Been using OD for 2 1/2 years and love it. We're using paper health histories, paper consent forms, etc. From reading, I see 3 ways to really go "paperless". 1) Scan all pieces of paper into the computer. 2) Using a 3rd party program to have patients enter t...

It's the planned appointment tracker. Not custom, just one of the lists/reports accessed with the Recall, ASAP, etc.

Re: What reports do you run? Recall, Planned appointments, etc.

Okay. Let me make sure I got this. 1) We've been using the planned appointments for about 2 months. I like it. All new patients in my office are seen by me first for an exam, films, treatment plan, etc. Before they leave, they are given a planned appointment for a hygiene appointment, and one for tr...

Inactive Patients and various lists

Is it possible to automatically delete inactive patients from the various lists created by open dental? For instance, I ran a planned appointment report and it listed a lot of inactive patients. I'd like to have inactive patients automatically removed from the various lists/reports.

Any of you using Acronis or other software to make automatic ghost images of critical machines? I do the backup of Open Dental, films, documents, but ghost images can be a lifesaver. Just curious.

What reports do you run? Recall, Planned appointments, etc.

I'm trying to get our systems down a little better. 1) Is it possible to automatically make any patient who has not been in for an appointment, say within the last 18 months or some other time frame inactive? If so, is it possible to eliminate them from recall lists/planned appointment lists? 2) Sam...

Re: RECALL with a hundred exclamation points

I too would be interested in a description of how to use the "planned appointment" feature. I know we underutilize it, but I'm not sure how to fully implement it. I would be greatly interested in recall help as well. Personally, I would like a report that would give me a list of patients who have be...

adjustment question

The problem is, it is included in the daily production reports. Is there a way for us to have an adjustment type that will affect production reports ...

Along these same lines . . . How close are we to having real time claims? If I understand it correctly, we would know exactly what the patient's portion is before they walk out the door. I'm salivating at the prospect.

I'm obviously not advanced enough to write my own queries judging by my last 4 hours worth of work. We got our recall all screwed up and I need this list....

Oh, that would be tasty. Real time EOB would be incredible. I would know the exact patient's amount at time of service. I can see where this would greatly cut down on bills sent to patients.

And, it would eliminate NEA? How soon will this materialize? Yesterday?

Clearing House

So now the recommendation is Tesia for the clearing house? Correct? Furthermore, we will have real time EOB (eventually) so we should know exactly how much the patient will owe? Is this too good to be true? This would really cut down on billing the patients. I hope I understand this correctly.
