Re: preferred name

Yes, request 245. I see what you are saying, the preferred name does not show up in the billing address. It does however show on the description of services provided.

Re: preferred name

I went to add some points to the request feature and saw that it has been completed. It looks like you were unable to replicate the problem and called it a bug. Should I submit another request or should I be worried about a bug?

Re: preferred name

Ok, I just updated to the most recent stable version of 7.1. However, I still see the preferred name show up the statement in parenthesis following the first name. Is this something that needs a request to fix or is there a setting somewhere I can change?

preferred name

Is there any way to use the preferred name and not have it show up on statements (I use Dental Xchange). Not only do we use it for nick names but we also use it for pronunciation of trickier names.

incorrect writeoffs on reports

Since I've updated OD I've figured out that the daily writeoffs are displaying incorrectly on the daily production/income report. They do however show correctly on the monthlyt prod/income report as well as on the daily writeoff report. It looks like on the daily prod/inc report duplicate writeoff a...

Popups

It looks like the popups have changed a bit in the newest version of OD so that they will only popup once on each computer. If you click to another patient and then go back to the first patient, the popup won't show. Is this the design and if so is there a preference somewhere to allow popups to sho...

primary pulp on 3d graphic

Is there a way to show on the chart a pulpotomy for primary teeth? I changed the procedure code paint type to RCT and buildup but neither one will show on primary teeth. Works fine on permanent teeth. On a similar note, is it possible to change the treatment plan color for some procedures? For examp...

Printing progress notes without fees

Is there a way to do this? I am currently using autonotes with one entry per visit so there is no way to use the 'show' tab to only select the notes. The only way I can get the notes to show is by clicking on the 'completed' radio button and the 'proc notes' button as well. This unfortunately shows ...

fee schedule change

I recently changed a fee schedule and have noticed that when we complete treatment that has been treatment planned prior to the change the old fee is being used. Is that the correct behavior? It seems like it should use the fee as of the date of treatment, not the date it was treatment planned. Mayb...

Re: Tracking writeoffs with Medicaid

Thanks. I just submitted a feature request in case others would like the same thing. In the meantime I'll either change medicaid to a PPO or manually track it with a custom query.

Re: Tracking writeoffs with Medicaid

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but I have a couple of questions. When I look at the production/income report I would like the difference between my fee schedule and medicaid reimbursment (a write off) to appear in the writeoff column. Currently, the report just discounts my production numbers base...

Multiple treatment plans

What is the best way to handle different treatment plan options. For example, if I wanted to treatment plan a two surface filling on a baby tooth, but there was a question as to whether a pulpotomy and crown might be necessary. I would like to see the MO show on the chart, but be able to submit pre-...

Re: End of day/month/year feature

Thanks for the reply. I'm feeling better about things now. I'll just lock the month after I reconcile things, and in the rare instance that we need to enter/delete procedures in the past, I'll go back and do that.

Editing sheets

Couple questions, Is it possible to copy a custom sheet if I want to make several variations? It looks to me like you can only copy the internal sheets. Also, how do you create a text field based off data in OD? For example, if I want to date a letter with the date that the last treatment was comple...

Re: End of day/month/year feature

The big example in my case is when an insurance claim is denied for some reason, and we have to resubmit a claim based on the date of service. I guess this shouldn't affect the past months production assuming the correct amount was billed in the original instance. Our first month using the program m...

Re: End of day/month/year feature

I'm aware of the lock date feature, and have been using it, but there have been times when my staff has needed to make legitimate changes or corrections to the prior month. I'm just used to these corrections showing up on the day they are entered (new month) rather than the day they reference (old m...

End of day/month/year feature

I switched from Eaglesoft a month ago, and have been very happy overall. Perhaps the only thing I liked that Eaglesoft did that I am unable to do with OD is I could close out a day/month or year. After closing the day, you could no longer alter the production or collections for that day. If on the n...

Re: Looking at chart graphic by date

I'll take the silence as an indicator that it is not possible to do this yet. How about another closely related question. Is it possible to search for treatment done on a tooth that is not present anymore using the 'show' tab in the chart? For example, all work that has been done on tooth #A that wa...

Looking at chart graphic by date

Pedo practice here. Is there a way to look at the way the odontogram looked on a certain date. For example, what teeth were present when a child was six years old (several years later).
Thanks

multiple fees for same code

What is the suggested routine for working with two different fees for the same code. The example we see all the time in our office would be 'D1510 - space maintainere - fixed - unilateral'. We charge one thing if we make a band and loop, another if we make a crown and loop, and another if we make a ...

Tracking writeoffs with Medicaid

Is there a way to properly track how much money I am writing off with my medicaid patients in OD? I have tried setting up my standard fee schedule and medicaid fee schedule in the trial version. When I set up medicaid as a carrier I have selected the medicaid type from the drop down menu, but it see...

Patients age on top bar?

First, I love Open dental. I've been recommending it to everyone. I work in a pedo practice, and find that I am frequently trying to see how old a patient is when I first walk into the room etc. As the program is most often on the chart module, it would be nice if there was an easy way to see pts ag...
