How to drop a PPO
I am going to drop a PPO contract January 1. It appears that I can't globally change all plans associated with the carrier from "PPO" to "category percentage" and that I need to edit each plan individually to make this change. That's a big job, but doable. However, as far as I can see, there is no s...

Re: Query for accounts with particular insurance carrier
Thank you, Tom!
Anything I could add to this to filter out inactive patients, or to confine the list to patients who have been seen in the office within the last 24 months?

Query for accounts with particular insurance carrier
I am trying to create a list of active accounts which currently have a particular insurance carrier. Unfortunately my query skills aren't good, and the best I can do is (from the query examples) a list of all patients (active and inactive) who have EVER been associated with that carrier. If anyone i...

Global reset of secondary providers
I'd like to find a way to reset all of the patients in my practice to having "none" as their secondary provider, and then only enter a secondary provider for those patients who insist upon having one particular hygienist for all recall appointments. I know I can use the provider window to reassign p...

Defeating the Child Prophy recall special type
Is there a way to defeat the child prophy special type age control? Here's the situation. We have selected 12 as the age for the system to switch from child prophy to adult prophy. There are a handful of 10 and 11 year olds, particularly with orthodontic appliances, who need more time than other kid...

Re: New Arrivals Feature
FYI - it's been working great for us so far today! Only thing we're wishing for is that there was a field to inserts the patient's preferred name rather than legal first name into the messaging.

Re: New Arrivals Feature
Thank you, Andrew! The OpenDental manual says that the "send time" specifies how many days or hours after the appointment is created that the arrival message will be sent; there is also a box to block sending the arrival message within a certain number of days or hours of the appointment time. Is th...

New Arrivals Feature
I see Arrivals was deployed in the 7/7/20 update! I have a couple of questions, and after spending some time on a support call this afternoon a few of them persist. 1. Why is sending the Arrival text tied to a patient scheduling an appointment? If a patient today schedules a recall visit for January...

Web Schedule recall limited to 60 days?
When our office opened up again on June 1, we anticipated using Web Schedule Recall to help reappoint our patients. However, we quickly had issues with patients telling us that the link only told them that no appointments were available. Also we found that when we attempted to test the system by man...

Re: Planned Appointments buried under completed appointments
Thank you both! I think that changing the background color will address the issue I see. I'm curious what sort of changes rhaber123 had made to the conversion - and about how the list of changes was developed. Team members pounding away on the trial conversion and looking for things that bugged them?

Planned Appointments buried under completed appointments
Hi, Nearly a new user here, learning the ropes on my converted trial database (after 10 years with Dentrix). I've really been looking forward to using the planned appointment feature. I just found that in my converted database, a planned appointment lists UNDER all completed appointments. I see in t...
