Patients Responding to Texts
We use the text confirmation, however, occasionally a patient will respond to the text with something like "I need to reschedule" or "I'm out of town can't make it." instead of the "C" to confirm. The problem is that Open Dental does not recognize anything other than a "C" so we end up missing text ...

Changing default recall email text
Hello, I would like to change the text in the email that is being sent as a recall reminder for my unscheduled patient list. Currently it says, "You are due for your regular dental check-up on xx/xx/20xx. Please call our office today to schedule an appointment." We would like to customize it a littl...

Drug names cutting off when printing
Hello, Yesterday, I tried to print a prescription for a mouthwash containing a few different drugs and dosages. When it printed, it cut off after a certain number of characters. Is there a workaround so I can print all of the text contained in the drug names and dosages? Or do longer drug names just...

Is there any way to make it so it changes the appointment confirmation color when someone replies with something other than a 'c'? We've had a few patients respond with things like "please cancel" and it would be nice to see the people that responded to the message with something other than a 'c' wi...

That time is the time that the first messages will start going out. So if you have an appointment 4 PM tomorrow, the text will go out at 4PM today if you have a 1 day lead time for your confirmation. Under the miscellaneous tab, where it says Automated eServices Schedule, is that what time the program is running or is that what time the text messages go out at? We just updated to the newest version of Open Dental. When we right click on an Existing Other procedure and delete, it says not allowed to delete completed procedures from here. @Mgostigian There are a few places you can check to make sure appointments and procedures are being assigned correctly, I'll bullet point them below: * Navigate to your Operatory setup menu (Setup > Appointments > Operatories) to make sure that the person assigned as a Hygienist to the operatory is...

Copying/Pasting Provider Schedule
I'm starting to think I have a defective copy of Open Dental or something. I go to Setup - Schedules. Copy a day that has the schedule correct. Paste it into a different day. But it does not show up in the appointment view. It shows it copied the day. It shows it pasted the day. But when I go to the...

I have not contacted support yet but we noticed it again yesterday. Hrm. Open Dental will typically assign prescriptions to the non-secondary providers first. Is the hygienist being set as the primary provider for appointments in your practice? I don't think so? On the contrary to this feature being obsolete, it is actually in beta. In version 16.3 we enhanced appointment types to include procedures and provider time patterns. You may update to 16.3 at this time if you desire this feature, but it will be buggier than the stable version 16.2. Thanks Chris. ...

Re: Insurance Estimate not showing in Account Module
Thanks rhaber. I guess our issue is that we are not creating the claim before the patient checks out. Perhaps consider this as an option in fut...

It shows it correct only after we send the insurance claim. Why wouldn't it show it before you send the claim like it does in the treatment planning module? Insurance Estimate not showing in Account Module
We had a patient we did a buildup and crown on. In TP module it shows insurance portion and patient portion. Insurance is paying at 40%. When we set them complete, it shows the patient owing the entire balance. What are we missing here? Patient has $1200 of benefits remaining.

No, it is not showing up properly in the accounts module. It is showing up as our UCR despite the correct checkbox NOT being checked as I stated above.
